Dr. Burton Langer
Periodontist
Dr. Burton Langer graduated from Tufts University and Tufts School of Dental Medicine. He received his Certificate in Periodontics and Masters Degree in Science from Boston University Graduate School of Dentistry in 1966.
Dr. Langer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He was one of the first periodontists trained in osseointegration by Professor Per-Ingvar Branemark in 1983. His development of new modalities of therapy, such as the early re-entry procedure for bone grafts, the ridge augmentation procedure, the subepithelial connective tissue graft, the development of the wide implant and various flap procedures for implants, have become standard methods of treatment.
In addition, Dr. Langer has lectured extensively throughout the world and has written over 60 articles, and chapters in 6 textbooks, many of which have original concepts that have enhanced the clinical practice of periodontics and implant dentistry. He is the 1992 recipient of the Isador Hirschfeld Award for Clinical Excellence and the 1997 recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology Master Clinician Award.

Dr. Laureen Langer
Periodontist
Dr. Laureen Langer is a graduate of Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery where she also received her certificate in Periodontics. In her senior year, she received the Periodontic, Prosthodontic and Oral Medicine awards. She was Associate Clinical Professor at Columbia for 18 years and was the Co-Director of the Implant Program in the Post-Graduate Division of Periodontics.
Dr. Langer has been published in the Journal of Periodontology, The International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, The International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants and has authored chapters in eight textbooks on the subject of periodontal surgery, subepithelial connective tissue grafts, bone and soft tissue grafting, sinus elevations, and implants.
Laureen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and a Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration. She was President of the Osseointegration Foundation from 2001 to 2002 and President of the Northeastern Society of Periodontists in 2002. She is the 2006 recipient of the Isador Hirschfeld Award. In addition, Dr. Langer was awarded the Distinguished Alumnus Award by Columbia University’s Periodontal Alumni Association, 2008 and most recently she was selected as the recipient of the 2018 Columbia University College of Dental Medicine Distinguished Alumni Award for Notable National Leadership in Implantology and Periodontology.

Dr. Edgard El Chaar
Periodontist, Chief Executive Director
Dr. El Chaar is currently a Clinical Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. He is a former Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry and former Director of Advanced Education Program in Periodontics at New York University College of Dentistry. Former Director and Founder of Advanced Education Program in Periodontics at Lutheran Medical Center. He has a thriving private practice in New York City that specializes in dental implants and Periodontal disease. He is the founder of EEC Institute, a continuing education and research institution focused on the advancement of clinical periodontics and implant dentistry. He is a retired Major in the US Army. He travels several times a year to lecture internationally and domestically and has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored several chapters in published books.
Dr. El Chaar completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, his post-graduate education in Advanced Periodontics and Dental Implants, and received a Master in Oral Biology all from New York University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. Member and Fellow of Implant Team of Implantology (ITI) and serves on the education committee, and Member of American academy of Periodontology and Academy of Osseointegration.
During his free time, Dr. El Chaar enjoys playing tennis, spending time with his family, boating and playing saxophone.
